What are PCMs?
Phase change materials(PCMs) are a non-toxic,inorganic and organic compounds that liquefy and solidify at specific temperatures. During the process of liquefying and solidifying within a set temperature within a set temperature range, PCMs absorb, store, and release large amount of energy. These natural properties of latent heat energy help maintain a product’s pr structure’s temperature, and buffer it from temperature swings.PCMs recharge as ambient temperature fluctuate, making them ideal for a multiude of everyday applications.

What is latent heat energy?
There are two kinds of heat energy: sensible and latent. Most common heat storage systems, such as a conventional hot-water heater, use sensible heat. Latent heat, which can be 100 times that of sensible heat, is the amount of energy required to change matter from one stage to another, liquid to solid, or vice versa. In latent heat storage maaterials, sensible heat is augmented by latent heat as illustrated in the diagram to the right. This results in the ability to maintain specific temperature for extended period of time
